UC Berkeley Disability Incarcerated Symposium
Founder, Talila A. Lewis hosted a discussion about deaf & disabled people in prison at UC Berkeley’s Disability Incarcerated/Disability Liberated Symposium, after a viewing of the Al Jazeera film “Deaf In Prison.”
Many members of the Deaf community were in attendance, along with amazing advocates and thought leaders including, Angela Davis, Liat Ben-Moshe, Sascha Altman DuBrul, DL Adams, Allison Carey, Ella Callow, Nora Wilson, Scott Wallin, Karen Nakamura, and members of Sins Invalid, just to name a few.
